SDF liberates large area north of Raqqa

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) liberated a large area in northern Raqqa, Syria.

Raqqa is the Islamic State’s main stronghold in Syria.

Commander of the SDF, Fayath Alghanim, said the morale of Syrian fighters is high in spite of the difficulties they face because of the mines planted by ISIS.

SDF received US ground support, the first of its kind, and they got new weapons as well.

US special forces soldiers are advising the Kurdish-led Syrian alliance fighting ISIS on the ground.
