Rojava delegation visits Damascus

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - A delegation from the administration of northeast Syria (Rojava) traveled to Damascus on Saturday to discuss implementation of the March 10 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the interim government, according to local media.

The delegation will meet with the Syrian government team responsible for implementing the agreement, reported Hawar News Agency (ANHA), which is affiliated with the Kurdish authorities in Rojava.

The five-member delegation consists of Fawza Youssef, Abd al-Hamid al-Mahbash, Ahmad Youssef, Sanharib Barsom, and Sozdar Haji. In addition, Mariam Ibrahim and Yasser Suleiman are serving as spokespersons, according to ANHA.

They are expected to meet with Damascus officials later this evening.

SDF chief Mazloum Abdi signed a landmark agreement with Syria’s interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa on March 10 to integrate the SDF and Rojava institutions into the Syrian state apparatus. The agreement recognizes the Kurds as an integral part of Syria, includes a countrywide ceasefire, and stipulates the return of displaced Syrians to their hometowns.
