Lawyers from Turkey's Urfa dine with Kobani refugees

SURUC, Urfa— Lawyers Bar Association of Urfa dine with Kobani refugees in Suruc refugee camps.
Nearly 1000 people attended the fast-breaking meal in the camps of Arin Mirkhan. The refugees expressed their gratitude and the lawyers pledged their support for Kobani people.

“Next week is the Eid day after Ramadan, but unfortunately the refugees of Kobani will stay away from their homes and be in these camps. We as the Bar Association of lawyers have gathered financial aid for the refugees, we will continue our legal and material support,” said Hikmet Delebe to Rudaw, head of Urfa’s Bar Association in Turkey.

An administrator of the camp and a refugee from Kobani himself, Bave Ziyad, expressed his gratitude to the lawyers and said, “Islam commands equality and sharing, and stands against oppression.  The Muslims must stand against the oppression of ISIS.”

“May Allah accept these charities, but in these camps our fasting the Ramadan and the Eid are nothing like before. ISIS is not a Muslim organization. They have beheaded and executed our people in this holy month,” said Mihmet Qewas, a refugee in the camp and whose children fight in Kobani against ISIS.

Dining with refugees meant to remind us of sharing, said Emin Baran, a lawyer of the Bar Association. “We will visit them again during the Eid,” said Dilan Kunt, another lawyer of the association.

The Bar Association of Urfa will also visit the refugee camp in Akcakale in the next few days and share a meal with them.
