2 HDP ministers resign from Davutoglu cabinet

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Two ministers representing the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Turkey’s interim government have resigned.

The two ministers are Ali Haydar Konca, the minister of European Union affairs, and Muslum Dogan, the minister of development.

News of the resignations came while the Turkish Cabinet was in session.

The two ministers are expected to hold a press conference at 13:30 GMT.

The HDP, which has 80 MPs, was the only opposition party that provided ministers to the election government headed by Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
