Explosion at Istanbul airport kills female cleaner
ISTANBUL--An explosion at Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen airport Wednesday afternoon killed a female cleaner and wounded another.
The Turkish police who have imposed tight security around the airport told the media that the cause of the explosion is under investigation.
The woman who died was working on a Pegasus airlines plane overnight when the blast took place.
The 30-year-old cleaner named Zeyhra Yamac died of injuries sustained to the head, the Turkish media said.
Flights are said to be running normally in and out of the airport.
The explosion occurred on the tarmac and Pegasus airline said in a statement no passengers were on the plane at the time.
