As we usher in the New Year of 2024, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our viewers, listeners, readers, and to the people of Kurdistan and the world. Our hope is that 2024 will bring peace and happiness to all.

The past year was a testament to the resilience and capability of Rudaw Media Network. Despite facing numerous challenges and obstacles we achieved significant progress, reflecting our team’s dedication and the unwavering support and affection from our audience.

In 2023, Rudaw Media Network expanded its global reach by establishing new international partnerships, thereby strengthening both its regional and global presence. We were honored with several international awards, acknowledging our commitment to delivering comprehensive and impactful coverage of events in Kurdistan and beyond.

As one of the leading news sources worldwide and a major media presence in the region, Rudaw has continued to evolve. Rudaw Digital, in particular, made remarkable strides, introducing podcasts, a new feature of the Kurdistan media scene. Additionally, we proudly began publishing our content in Chinese, a first time occurrence for a Kurdish media outlet.

Looking ahead to 2024, Rudaw Media Network is poised for further innovation and expansion. In collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), we will place a special focus on training women journalists in Kurdistan and across Iraq, empowering them to excel in their field.

We congratulate all of our colleagues at Rudaw for their future achievements in the upcoming year. In this moment of reflection and anticipation, we also pay tribute to our martyred colleague Shifa Gardi and our kidnapped reporter Farhad Hamo, whose memories and contributions continue to inspire us.
