ISIS records beheading of ‘Russian spy’

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – New video footage released by the Islamic State (ISIS) on social media purportedly shows the beheading of a Russian hostage.

The ISIS killer responsible for the grisly murder, speaking Russian, also threatens President Vladimir Putin and Russian citizens.

“Russian people, you will not find security in your home,” the US Foreign Policy news agency quoted the killer as saying in the video. “We will kill your sons ... for each son you killed here. And we will destroy your homes for each home you destroyed here.”

The beheading comes at the end of the eight- minute video, in which the ISIS killer accuses the captive kneeling before him in an orange jumpsuit – a signature style for ISIS – of being a Russian spy.

In an interview with the militants before he was beheaded, the hostage said his name was Khasayev Maghomid, from Chechnya, and he had been sent by Russian intelligence to ISIS areas to identify foreign fighters who joined the terror group and were planning to return home to carry out attacks, the Foreign Policy reported.

The identities and nationalities of both the captive and the killer have not yet been confirmed.
