More than 50,000 Ukrainians have lost limbs in conflict with Russia
KYIV - Two years after losing a limb in one of the deadliest confrontations with Russian forces, Oleksandr Zozulyak is working at a prosthetic center in Kyiv, helping the thousands of Ukrainians who have been injured in the conflict.
"I've been working on improving prosthetic limbs, trying to improve the attachment of prosthetics, installing sensors, and enhancing the connection of these sensors. I've created several prosthetic limbs and they work very well," Zozulyak said.
At least 50,000 Ukrainians, including civilians, have lost limbs in nearly three years of war, according to the Ukrainian Health Ministry.
