US security agency sees Iran as one of 'top five' cyber threats

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Richard Ledgett, deputy director of the US National Security Agency, said Iran is one of “the top five countries” that the United States watches from a cyber point of view. Ledgett noted examples of successful cyber attacks Iran had waged against the US.

The relations between the US and Iran have been on the decline since the latter test fired a ballistic missile and as the result, the new US President Donald Trump administration imposed new sanctions on certain individuals and entities.

Tehran and Iran have been engaged in back-and-forth verbal jabs since Trump was inaugurated in January.
