Croatia vows support for KRG in ISIS fight
ZAGREB, Croatia – Croatia's minister of defense said his country will give all necessary support it can provide to the Kurdistan region and Peshmerga forces in the fight against the Islamic State, or ISIS.
“We will not withdraw from the international coalition against ISIS until the fight is over,” said Ante Kotromanović, Croatian defense minister.
Kotromanović spoke after receiving Falah Mustafa, head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Kurdistan Regional Government, who visited the Croatian capital of Zagreb on Monday.
“Croatia is a member of the international coalition, European Union and NATO, and it will continue supporting the Peshmarga forces militarily against ISIS,” said Kotromanović
Later, the minister praised the “heroic role of the Peshmerga forces” in the fight against terror.
“We talked about the necessary assistance to the Peshmerga forces and the important issues of arming and training. We also emphasized providing military, political and humanitarian assistance to the Kurdistan region,” said Mustafa to Rudaw.
