Trump declares Khamenei killed
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - US President Donald Trump on Sunday claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead, describing the development as “Justice for the people of Iran” and pledging that American military operations would continue.
In a statement posted on his Truth Social, Trump called Khamenei “one of the most evil people in History” and said the alleged killing was the result of US intelligence capabilities and coordination with Israel.
“He was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do,” Trump wrote.
The US president framed the reported development as an opportunity for political change in Iran, saying it represents “the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country.”
Trump also claimed that members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), military, and security forces are seeking immunity and may no longer be willing to fight.
“As I said last night, ‘Now they can have Immunity, later they only get Death!’” he wrote.
Trump expressed hope that the IRGC and police would “peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots” to restore what he described as the country’s “Greatness.”
Despite speaking of peace, Trump said military operations would continue.
There has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding Khamenei’s reported death at the time of publication.
