ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Thousands attended the first ever festival of colors in Erbil, hosted by the Nishtiman Youth Network (NYN).
“The purpose of this event is to promote love, multiculturalism, and unity of the diverse groups in the community,” explained event organizers, Friday evening in Sami Abdulrahman Park.
Festival goers were asked to wear white and were given red, white, green, and yellow powders, covering each other with the colors of the Kurdistan flag.
The Kurdistan color festival also included a DJ playing Kurdish and western music in addition to live music that got the crowds dancing.
