RANYAH, Kurdistan Region – Sixteen music and dance artists from eight different countries came together for the sixth annual Festival of Different Cultures in Ranyah this week.

Some 5,000 people turned out for the three-day festival, organized by Rayal Center for Cultural Exchange and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Culture and Youth.

The festival takes place each year at the beginning of autumn.

The festival showcased traditional dance, including the famous Kurdish Halparke, and performances by the Yezidi Sharia Dance group, the Iraqi National Local Arts group, and an Iranian arts group called Haray Quchan.

Artists from Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, and India also took part.
