ZAKHO, Kurdistan Region – Four tents were burned and one person injured when fire broke out in a camp for displaced persons (IDPs) east of Zakho in Duhok province.
“The fire was caused by an electricity problem. Four tents were burned,” Mamon Yahya, director of Jameshko Camp, told Rudaw.
More than 25,000 Yezidis are sheltering in the camp.

Faisal Haji, who survived the blaze, told Rudaw that firefighter teams responded quickly and brought the fire under control within minutes.
Just over 2 million Iraqis are still displaced from their homes, according to figures from the International Organization for Migration.
In Duhok, there are 350,358 IDPs. Some 43 percent of the families sheltering in the Kurdistan Region province are living in camps.
Earlier this year, heavy rains flooded several IDP camps.
