Speaking to Rudaw on the 4th anniversary of the ISIS attack on the Yeizidi community, German Consul General in Erbil Barbara Wolf said on Friday, “It is with deep sorrow and enormous grief that we commemorate today the fourth anniversary of the attack of Daesh on the Yezidi people."

“Words are not enough to describe the hardship, the suffering of these people, the inhumanity and brutality of these attacks,” she said. “For us it is inconceivable to feel the suffering of the Yezidi people.”

Wolf said that “Germany which is home to the biggest Yezidi community outside of Iraq has been trying to in various ways to aleviate the plight of the Yezidis.”

The Consul General added that Germany is working with UNHCR, Red Cross and other organizations to provide humanitarian aid, sanitation and psychological help to the Yezidi community.
