There was a total solar eclipse visible from Kenya and parts of Africa for about ten seconds today.
The event, which was the second solar eclipse of 2013, was visible from Africa, Europe and parts of the United States.
It was also deemed a "Hybrid Eclipse", which is an eclipse that happens and is partially visible from various parts of the world.
The photos above were taken in Erbil, the capital of the Iraqi Kurdish Region.
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon as it is moving through its orbit around the Earth blocks the sun.
