ERBIL, Kurdistan Region- Sulaimani is taking a page out of Hollywood’s book in a new campaign to write its name in the mountains around the city.
The project was recently announced in a press conference at Sulaimani’s Directorate of Parks office.
Kameran Saleh, director of the project, announced that the city name’s letters “Slemani” will made of metal, stretching 6,634 square meters and standing 50 meters high.
“The name display is the biggest among others in cities around the world and we are trying to set it on Guinness World Records,” Saleh said.
“The name will be seen from most districts of Sulaimani, and we will plant trees around the name,” he added.
