In the bird market of Erbil you can find many kinds of birds to buy for their meat, but geese are the most popular and people from all walks of life come here to buy live geese for special dinner events, family gatherings or a winter picnic.
One goose seller believes that people have understood the benefits of goose meat, that’s why, he said, he has more customers coming for his geese than any other.
In the market you could find birds from Turkey, Iran, India and other countries. But this seller argues that none of them could beat the Kurdish goose, fed on natural foods and free ranging the open fields.
