KIRKUK, Kurdistan Region—Kurdish Peshmerga forces have found an unmanned drone near Saadiya in northern Diyala, a field commander told Rudaw.
A source inside the 136th Peshmerga force in the area said that his team “came upon the unmanned spy drone while inspecting a village outside Saadiya,”
“The drone is damaged and we don’t know whether it has been done by the security forces or by the local people,” he said.
The Kurdish military source said that the drone was found in a field at Tibij village.
Mahmoud Sangawi, the Peshmerga commander of the Garmaser region said he believed the drone is Iranian and that “there are no signs of it having been shot down.”
