ZRARANI BARZAN, Kurdistan Region – Wild animals are making themselves at home in this village in the mountains of Erbil Province.

They come looking for food and to escape predators. "They come close to the houses in fear of wolves and predators. They come near the village because they know it is safe and no one will hurt them," said Mam Abdullah, who lives in the village.

Some of the animals are so at home in the village, they enter the houses themselves.
