SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region – Kamaran Najm, a photographer who has been missing since the early months of the war against ISIS, has been celebrated in a new exhibition at a Sulaimani museum.

On June 12, 2014, while covering the fight between Peshmerga forces and ISIS near Mullah Abdullah village in Kirkuk, Najm was injured and taken captive by ISIS. He is still missing.

Najm was born in 1987. He began his photography career with the arrival of US forces in Iraq in 2003. He founded the first photography agency in Iraq in 2010 to train and support photo journalists.
