ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – A local businesswoman has reopened her popular juice stand to provide for her family during the coronavirus pandemic.
Dilan has ran a juice stall in Erbil’s Bakhtiari neighbourhood for the past year.
Famously dressed in Kurdish attire, she serves fresh juices from 7.00pm to midnight at a stand in Erbil’s Bakhtiari neighbourhood.
“I do this to make my family’s life better and to promote better health for people, as my natural juices are good for you,” Dilan told Rudaw on Wednesday.
She thanked the mayor of Erbil and local authorities for allowing her to run the stand without paying rent or taxes.
Her husband Masoud used to work in a coffee shop, before losing his job. Supportive of Dilan’s business, he looks after their three-year old son so she can work.
“I supported my wife’s idea when she told me about it, and now she works and I take care of our child,” he said.
