ERBIL, Kurdistan - In Monday's confrontations between the Kurdish Peshmerga and Islamic State (ISIS) in the village of Wardak on the Khazir front, two ISIS militants were taken captive after they broke cover and surrendered to the Peshmerga. A third was killed.

The two who surrendered to the Peshmerga spoke to Rudaw and expressed their remorse in fighting the Peshmerga.

In a massive two-day assault on the ISIS militants on the Khazir front, southeast of Mosul, 140 extremists were killed, two surrendered to the Peshmerga and nine villages were liberated, while four Peshmerga were killed and 34 others wounded, said the Peshmerga commander of the Khazir front.
