The battle will take place on several fronts: Gwer, Mount Zartik, Nawaran, Talafar, Shingal and Baghdad direction.
A Kurdish Peshmerga official says the Kurds will take part but the numbers and type of guns aren’t clear yet.
At the moment the Kurds, Iraq and coalition have a joint operations command to draw the plans for control of Mosul.
They aim to retake the city with the least casualties and shortest time.
To get the Mosul population on board Iraqi planes have dropped leaflets on the city several times and asked them for cooperation.
