ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—Eleven civilians were killed and six wounded in two Islamic State (ISIS) suicide attacks in villages in the Manbij countryside in northern Syria on Tuesday.

A suicide bomber targeted civilians in the village of al-Mashi, the Manbij Military Council reported, saying that ISIS does not care if they attack military positions or civilians, “they just want to kill.”

A second bombing occurred in the village of al-Dandanah.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 20 were wounded in the attack in al-Mashi.

The Manbij Military Council listed among the dead Abdulkarim al-Hassan al-Mashi; Issa al-Mashi and his daughter Asia Issa al-Hassan al-Mashi, Ahmed al-Mashi, Star al-Hassan al-Mashi, Mohammed Star, and Abud al-Hilal.

The wounded were taken to hospitals in Kobane and Qamishli.

Manbij was liberated from ISIS control by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in mid-August. It is now under the control of the Manbij Military Council, a local council that is defending and administering the town.

ISIS has launched repeated attacks against SDF and Manbij Military Council forces in the Manbij area, according to the Observatory.
