Syrian army soldiers raised flags and portraits of President Bashar al-Assad in neighbourhoods of Aleppo city on Friday.
The regime forces have taken control of the area from the Kurdish YPG, who departed in order to reinforce the front in Afrin against Turkey’s military offensive.
