ROHA, Turkey – Turkish SWAT teams arrested 14 alleged members of the Islamic State group (ISIS), including a woman, during raids Sunday in Konya and Roha, the DHA news agency reported.
It said that important documents also were seized during the operations.
The raids follow twin bombings in Ankara that targeted a protest rally against the ongoing conflict between government forces and the rebel Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
Two explosions at the peace march in central Ankara on Saturday killed at least 86 people.
For weeks now, Turkish forces have bombed PKK bases in the Kurdistan Region and carried out attacks and raids in Turkey’s own Kurdish southeast.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denounced Saturday’s bombing as "this loathsome attack that targeted our unity and our togetherness.”
Selahattin Demirtas, co-leader of the pro-Kurdish HDP party, blamed the state for the attack, calling it "a huge massacre.” The opposition party has called off all its election rallies.
