ANKARA, Turkey - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned Thursday's ISIS brutal attack on civilians in Syria’s Kurdish city of Kobani, saying Turkey will welcome the wounded for medical care.

Erdogan has strongly denied recent accusations that Turkey allowed the ISIS attackers to enter Kobani across the Turkish border.

“Turkey and terror have never been compatible. The voices accusing us are mere rumors and part of anti-Turkey campaign,” Erdogan said during a speech for Iftar dinner on Thursday.

“We condemn the Daesh [ISIS] attacks on civilians in Kobani and Turkey is open to the wounded civilians,” he added, insisting his country have never closed its borders to civilians escaping the war with ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

“After the recent attack on Kobani, at least 130 injured persons are now in Turkey’s hospitals,” Erdogan said.

Turkey has accepted at least 2 million Syrian and Iraqi refugees who have fled their homes in fear of an ISIS takeover. The country has reportedly spent a $5 billion so far for the refugee crisis.

Erdogan also called for more international support.
