President Nechirvan Barzani arrives in Germany for Munich security conference

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani has arrived in Germany at the invitation of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), the Kurdistan Region presidency announced.
 
During his visit, President Barzani is scheduled to meet with key international leaders to discuss regional developments, as well as the security situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
 
The three-day conference will begin on Friday.
 
President Barzani has participated in the MSC for several years, underscoring the Kurdistan Region’s ongoing engagement in global security discussions.
 
The MSC is recognized as one of the world’s leading forums for international security policy.
 
The 62nd edition of the conference will be held from 13 to 15 February at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich. Over 1,000 participants are expected, including dozens of heads of state and government, as well as leaders of major international organizations.
 
This year’s program will address a range of space-related topics, including the impact of innovation on the space and security landscape, the growing strategic importance of the Moon and cislunar space, the future of Europe’s space industrial capabilities, and broader shifts shaping the next era of global risks.
