WASHINGTON DC – Hillary Clinton’s health issues are over-emphasized during by the media and society because of her sex. She should not be required to release her medical records.

It seems hypocritical for America to push for the inclusion of articles that guarantee equal rights for women in other nation’s constitutions such, as Iraq and Afghanistan, until it adds an amendment to her own constitution that views women as equal.

Kurdish women fighting Islamic State terrorists provide both a challenge to West’s perception of women in the Muslim world and “an inspiration to the entire world.”

These are some of the arguments that Bettina Hager, a prominent feminist leader in the United States, would forcefully make.   At 31, Ms. Hager is the Washington DC director, for Equal Rights Act Coalition.

In the interview posted above, Rudaw talks to her about the role of gender in the 2016 US presidential elections where Hillary Clinton is history's first female nominee of a major party, and the struggle of the feminist movements in America and beyond.
