El Clasico premiered at Empire Cinema in Erbil’s Family Mall on Saturday.
El Clasico tells the story of Alan and Shirwan, Kurdish brothers and little people, who decide to deliver handmade football shoes to their hero, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, with the hope that he will convince the father of the woman Alan loves to permit their marriage.
In August, it won the audience award at the Norwegian International Film Festival.
The film was directed by Halkawt Mustafa and stars Wrya Ahmed, Dana Ahmes, and Kamaran Raoof. It will be screened across the Kurdistan Region.
