ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Israeli forces shelled Syria’s southern province of Quneitra on Tuesday, according to Syrian state media.
“Israeli occupation forces targeted the vicinity of agricultural lands in the village of Tarnaja in the northern countryside of Quneitra with three artillery shells,” al-Ikhbariya TV cited its correspondent as saying.
No casualties have been reported.
The targeted area lies adjacent to the occupied Golan Heights, making it strategically significant.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the reported shelling.
Israel has carried out repeated operations in southern Syria in recent months, saying it aims to prevent hostile forces from establishing positions near its frontier.
Damascus has repeatedly condemned Israeli military activity inside Syrian territory, calling it a violation of sovereignty and the 1974 disengagement agreement that established a UN-monitored buffer zone following the Arab-Israeli war.
The frontier has become increasingly tense as regional fighting involving Israel, Iran, and allied groups has spilled into several neighboring countries.
