UK’s Kurds to protest attack on Kurdish cultural centre in Paris

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - A Kurdish organisation in the UK has announced that it is organising a demonstration in London on Saturday to protest the recent deadly attack on a Kurdish cultural centre in Paris. 

The Kurdish People’s Democratic Assembly of Britain, said early Saturday that the country’s Kurds will gather in front of the French embassy in London “to protest the brutal attack and demand the UK to work together with France and the EU to ensure the protection of Kurdish communities across the continent.” 
 
The incident took place in Rue d'Enghien street where a number of Kurdish shops and Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Centre are located. Three people were killed and three others were injured in the shooting. Paris public prosecutor said the suspect, a 69-year-old man, was previously known to the authorities. 

Kurdish leaders and politicians have condemned the attack, calling on the French authorities to protect the Kurds. 

Kurds have launched the hashtag #JeSuisKurde on social media platforms as support to Kurdish community in France.

Clashes erupted between a group of Kurdish protesters and police following the deadly incident on Friday.
